McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a highly regarded Accountancy Practice who have seen vast growth over the last few years and are looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Manager for their growing team in Leicester, focussing on SME’s and multi-national clients (up to £100m turnover). Supporting the Tax Partner within the office, the role would suit an ACA, ACCA or ideally CTA Qualified tax specialist from a Top100 or well-known Regional Accountancy firm.
Key Duties:
* Responsible for a portfolio of corporate clients across various sectors, reviewing corporation tax returns and ensuring compliance is up to date
* Assisting with tax advisory assignments with the Partner including group re-organisations, share transfers, share planning, cross border issues, de-mergers and growth share transactions
* Dealing with a wide range of client tax queries as they arise
* Taking a leading role in managing the tax department and management of staff workflow
* Training other team members including the audit team around Corporate Tax changes as they occur
* Participation in the critical on-going review of tax systems
* Review of work undertaken by more junior Tax department members, and providing on-the-job tax training
* Significant liaison with the audit department and audit partners about cross-selling opportunities
* Drafting advisory corporate tax documents for review by senior managers and the Tax Partner
The role is likely to be 50% Tax Compliance work and 50% Tax Advisory work, but this can be flexible according to your skillset and wishes. To be considered for the Corporate Tax Manager role you should be ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified with sound knowledge of UK corporate taxation (including some advisory experience ideally) and preferably an awareness of international tax/cross-border issues. With 3-years+ post qualification experience, you should have good knowledge of accountancy principles, in particular accounting for tax along with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and you should be able to take personal responsibility & accountability for your own work. You should have strong commercial awareness, be client focused with some staff management skills/coaching of others and an ability to manage change.
On offer is a salary up to £60,000 depending on experience + 25 days holiday, pension scheme, healthcare and a choice of hybrid working options.
