We would be open to discussing part time working arrangements for this role. Position Summary We have a fantastic opportunity to join the York Distribution Centre as a Logistics Planning Manager. York Distribution Centre is the hub for Nestle Owned Warehousing. The Planning Team are responsible for ensuring that the business needs are met and we delight our customers with excellent service. York Distribution Centre has an opportunity to further increase logistics excellence and become the pilot for logistical excellence across the UK and extend our collaboration to logistics across Europe. A day in the life of a Logistics Planning Manager Your role will incorporate a variety of responsibilities. The core element is to plan the overall capacity of York DC and coordinate the utilisation of labour and resources to meet our customer's needs. You will manage a team of three direct reports who are responsible for making sure we have compliance at the heart of everything we do. We are also accelerating digitalisation across Nestle Logistics, and you will support the operational implementation. You will play a key role in our operational reviews whilst supporting and leading improvement initiatives across a broad number of areas to help deliver against our Operational Master Plan and will have a continuous excellence background and a desire to optimise our end-to-end processes. Key responsibilities will include: - - Leading operational planning of capacity for York DC to support the overall planning of the UK&I network. - Take the lead on operational performance reporting, measures and data analysis. Create measures that drive actions. - Coordinate compliance across YDC & logistics North End so we have no audit gaps. - Oversee the annual CAPEX processes. Coordinate across logistics and work with project managers on spend and a forward view of investment requirements - Continuous Improvement implementation in our end-to-end processes. Embed 5s into the office and maintain high standards for data management and physical workspace. - Managing the communication strategy across Owned Warehouse. - Embed the digitalisation strategy for training, performance, visual standards & compliance. - Manage supplier performance and cost of Mechanical Handling Equipment - Coordinate MHE training across York site as well as liaising with health surveillance providers so everyone in logistics is certified to drive. What will make you successful You'll have operational experience with a proven track record in Continuous Improvement initiatives. You'll have examples of where you've led change initiatives and delivered projects. You'll have effective communication and influencing skills along with the ability to manage stakeholders enabling you to maintain healthy working relationships across your peers and senior stakeholders. Other key experiences and skills: - Planning experience (MPS, DPS, SNP or DP) - Labour and Resource Planning experience - Experience of continuous improvement - A strong understanding of operational environments, ideally within logistics and distribution. - Knowledge of end to end Supply Chain What you need to know What can we offer in return?
