About the Employer
I'm a woman in her mid-thirties and of African-Caribbean heritage. I'm a mom of 2 young children and I'm in the creative field. I have Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, ADHD and Autism. This means that I often experience chronic pain and fatigue. Must be culturally competent, calm, positive, supportive, honest, reliable, punctual and good with children.
Experience - I would prefer someone with a childcare qualification/experience or a parent. It would also be helpful if you had experience of working with autistic or neuro-diverse adults. Needs to be sensitive to when I'm overwhelmed and able to just get on with things quietly and give me space. Must be able to use your initiative whilst working with me. Needs to be LGBTQ+ knowledgeable. Well educated and able to support with my children's homework.
Tasks vary but include: helping to maintain the home's tidiness and cleanliness eg. hoovering, mopping, cleaning, dusting, changing beds, laundry, cleaning out the fridge, help with food preparation. Maintaining a joint diary, help filling out paperwork, attending appts with me on time. Liaising with mental health services regarding appointments as required. Liaise with my pharmacy to ensure my prescriptions are filled on time. Remind me when I need to take my medication. Clearing out fridge. Contacting professionals on my behalf if I don't have capacity at that time. Helping me to manage my diary activities so I'm not doing too many things in 1 day. Attend social activities with me on occasion. Some morning and afternoon school runs. You should be first aid and Epi-Pen trained. I find paperwork overwhelming so I need you to take responsibility for sending your timesheet on time each month to Penderels Trust.
Payroll is through Penderels Trust and you'll be employed by me with my mother's support.
Pay £11.70 per hour.
Must be a competent driver with a roadworthy car and clean driver's license. There will be a fuel allowance provided and PA will need to record their miles but that won't include travel to and from work.
