About the role
Kingspan Water & Energy is at the forefront of innovation and is leading change in sustainability and built environs. As part of our ongoing global expansion plans, our Energy Management Storage business is looking for unique and talented individuals to join our Maintenance team.
To gain an Electrical Maintenance or a Mechanical Maintenance qualification following a four-year apprenticeship programme. The successful candidate will gain experience and competence in conducting routine inspections, diagnosing faults and malfunctions, and performing minor repairs within a Manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, fault find, and repair faults on a range of plant, equipment and services.
* Learn how to carry out planned preventative maintenance to statutory requirements.
* Learn how to carry out statutory inspections and testing of plant, equipment and services to ensure their safe operation and meet current standards.
* Use all relevant tools and equipment as necessary.
* Learn how to plan, evaluate, and order materials for the necessary job requisitions.
* Communicate with others on aspects of their work, including any problems encountered.
* Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work areas.
* Participate in systems of work and complete all necessary paperwork to statutory and Kingspan requirements.
* Follow drawings and specifications under the necessary guidance of others, following Kingspan and statutory requirements regarding health and safety at work.
* Attend external academic learning facilities (i.e., college attendance day release) as required to obtain an industry recognised technical certificate.
* Carry out repairs, maintain, and efficiently run plant through appropriate levels of supervision in line with requirements of the maintenance asset management scheme and other estate protocols, providing information and communication for the updating of record data.
What we are looking for
* Full driving licence, or ability to travel independently between sites.
* Previous background in the practical and theoretical study of engineering.
* 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above including Maths, English Language, and two other subjects.
* Committed to undertaking and successfully completing the Level 3 qualification as part of an established apprenticeship programme.
* Acknowledgement of requirement to attend on a regular basis off-site academic tuition for career qualification.
* A basic understanding of mechanical and electrical science.
Abilities and Skills
* Analytical problem-solving with fault finding skill involving interpretation of manufacturers' specifications and engineering drawings.
* Appetite to learn multi-skilled or flexible cross-trade skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as work commonly brings operatives into close contact with various departments.
* Ability to receive and retain complex technical information and instructions on equipment that will require analysis, judgement, and decision-making.
* Ability to work towards assisting within a small team as part of a training programme.
* To use tact, patience, and diplomacy to communicate to other staff (of different disciplines) so that the situation is fully understood by all parties.
* High levels of self-motivation, initiative, and tenacity.
