Woodland Planner

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Woodland Planner to join our team. You will interact with and act as a point of contact for colleagues, stakeholders and government agencies to expedite woodland creation and development in South Scotland. You will be working with leading UK forest managers to develop new forests from planning through to creation.
In this role you will navigate the woodland grant system for Scotland and develop and lead a culture of project management for on time and within budget delivery.
The success of the South Scotland team is down to the diversity of clients with which we engage, which includes estates, private forestry investors and investment funds, individual and family farms, charitable organisations, utility companies and local authorities.
About You:
As an experienced forestry professional, you can demonstrate strong commercial acumen and an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. In addition, you’ll have:
* A degree or diploma in Forestry, or related discipline.
* A good understanding of UKFS/UKWAS.
* Three years relevant managerial and operational experience, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
* Proven commercial acumen to contribute to the running of a profit-making operation.
* Comfortable using a broad range of software packages including GIS.
* Influencing and negotiating skills.
* Problem solving and organisational skills.
* Full driving licence.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Teamworking and communication skills.
* The ability to cope with and deliver to deadlines.
* Willingness to progress within the company.
