Are you a Developer with WordPress experience looking for a friendly and ambitious team to share your talents with? We’re on the lookout for talented WordPress Developers to join us in building impactful and user-centric web solutions for our diverse client base.
Responsibilities:
1. Developing, maintaining, and optimising client websites using WordPress.
2. Collaborating with project managers and designers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
3. Customising WordPress themes and templates based on client specifications.
4. Ensuring websites are responsive, accessible, and optimised for speed.
5. Troubleshooting and resolving website issues, bugs, and security vulnerabilities.
6. Collaborating with the design teams to implement brand identity.
7. Ensuring website compatibility across various devices and browsers.
8. Integrating websites with third-party APIs and other tools as needed.
9. Staying up-to-date with the latest WordPress features, industry trends, and web technologies, and training others in the team.
Requirements:
1. 1+ years experience with WordPress, with a strong portfolio of past projects.
2. Strong knowledge of WordPress, including themes, templates, and plugins.
3. Solid understanding of WordPress core, security, and best practices.
4. Experience with HTML5 and CSS3 to build responsive and aesthetically pleasing layouts.
5. Basic to intermediate JavaScript knowledge, including jQuery, for interactive elements.
6. Proficiency in PHP for custom themes, plugins, and server-side logic in WordPress, and MySQL databases, which power the WordPress CMS, including basic SQL queries.
7. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and source control systems, such as branching, pull requests, peer reviews etc.
8. Knowledge of SEO best practices, web performance optimisation, and accessibility standards.
9. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders, translating technical jargon to aid understanding.
10. A forward-thinking mindset, adept at finding efficiencies and improvements in delivery processes.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
1. Proven ability to create designs that look and perform well on all devices and screen sizes.
2. Experience with headless WordPress, REST APIs, and JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js.
3. Familiarity with other CMS platforms like Drupal, Joomla, or Shopify.
4. Experience working in a dynamic agency environment.
5. A great attitude and willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive team spirit.
6. The ability to scope work and deliver on time within budgets.
7. A passion to train and share skills with other team members and departments.
Note: We work from the office 3 days per week and are based near the Metro Centre in Gateshead.
