The Marketing Recruiter | Connecting Startups & Scaleups with Marketers that fuel growth
Propel is currently working with a fast-scaling, high-growth Series C B2B SaaS company. They're on the lookout for a strategic Website Manager to take full ownership of their digital presence, transforming their website into a powerful growth engine.
Why This Role?
This is your chance to step into a pivotal role at a Series C scale-up backed by top-tier investors. The company is transitioning from a startup mindset to one that’s ready to scale, and they need a website leader who can own this crucial function. You will drive the website’s strategic direction, improving performance, and positioning it as a core part of their demand generation engine.
About the Business & Team
The company has reached a major growth milestone with global operations and a strong leadership team focused on innovation. They value autonomy, ownership, and a data-driven approach, and they’re looking for someone to help shape the future of their website strategy.
The Day-to-Day
As Website Manager, you will:
1. Develop and Own the Strategy: Create a comprehensive website strategy that aligns with the company’s goals, ensuring the website is positioned as a key driver of business results.
2. Site Architecture: Regularly assess and improve the structure of the website to ensure it’s intuitive and user-friendly, with clear pathways for users to convert.
3. Content Optimisation: Oversee the content strategy, ensuring that the website provides valuable, relevant content at every stage of the user journey. Collaborate with the content team to optimize and update existing content.
4. A/B Testing and Experimentation: Lead experimentation efforts, testing various designs, messaging, and UX/UI elements to see what resonates best with the target audience.
5. Analyse User Behavior: Use tools like Hotjar and SEMRush to monitor how visitors interact with the site. Dive into heatmaps, session replays, and user flow to identify barriers to conversion.
6. Identify and Implement Improvements: Based on insights, work to optimise conversion pathways—whether it’s through call-to-action (CTA) adjustments, form optimisation, or improving lead capture mechanisms.
7. Collaborate with Design/Dev Teams: Coordinate with the design and development teams to implement design changes or technical improvements to enhance the conversion process.
8. Conduct SEO Audits: Regularly audit the website for SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics, SEMRush, and Moz. Look at technical SEO, on-page SEO (keyword optimization, meta tags, etc.), and off-page SEO (backlink strategy).
9. Create Performance Dashboards: Develop and maintain dashboards that track key website metrics (traffic, bounce rate, conversion rate, etc.) using tools like Google Analytics, Data Studio, or Excel.
10. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly interact with other teams (Sales, Product, Customer Support) to ensure the website reflects their needs and priorities. Gather feedback on the website’s performance and make improvements where necessary.
11. Balance Needs with Performance: Be able to balance the demands of multiple stakeholders while keeping the overall performance goals in mind.
What We’re Looking For
1. Proven experience in website management and optimisation, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment.
2. Strong understanding of website performance, SEO, and user experience best practices.
3. A strategic thinker who’s not just managing a website but actively shaping it to drive business growth.
4. Experience with tools such as WordPress, HubSpot, GA4, SEMRush, and Hotjar is a plus.
5. A hands-on leader who can work independently and execute at a high level without relying on large dev teams.
The Culture & Team
You’ll join a lean, high-performing marketing team in a fast-paced environment where things move quickly and decisions are made fast. There’s plenty of autonomy in the role, and your contributions will be highly visible. The team values initiative, adaptability, and a proactive mindset.
This is a hybrid role, with 2 days in the office near Bank/Monument.
