This is an exciting opportunity for a registered mental health professional (nursing, occupational therapy or social work) to join the new North Kent Community Rehabilitation Service as Operational Team Manager. Within this role you'll help launch & develop this new service & be a part of the exciting Rehabilitation Strategy improving patient recovery. Under the direction of the Service Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of the new Community Rehabilitation Service in North Kent. You will manage a team of clinical staff & be responsible for supporting individuals to reach their potential & to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care. The Community Rehabilitation Service provides a flexible range of mental health interventions to help clients complex mental health needs to manage their mental health more effectively & remain in their own homes. The team works in close partnership with Social Care & housing providers to ensure each client has the necessary resources available to enable them to engage in their rehab journey. Across the Community Rehabilitation teams, the clinical team consists of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, & VCSE Workers. The ideal applicant will have experience of working as a band 6 practitioner in a community mental health service. You'll be competent at managing a complex caseload & have a good understanding of the health & social needs. You'll also have supervisory & leadership experience. To provide operational leadership and coordination of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of effective, efficient and high-quality service for service users. The role will include operational responsibilities; You will:
* line manage clinical staff.
* utilise data to monitor the performance of the service against performance and quality indicators.
* use your leadership skills to motivate and support high levels of performance amongst your team and delivery of quality care.
* ensure that Trust policies are adhered to and take appropriate action where performance and conduct issues arise.
* have a lead role in the recruitment and retention of staff.
* be required to liaise and collaborate with other services to promote and enhance patient experience and recovery.
* ensure clear and accurate communication to the team and be able to escalate concerns to the senior management team as needed.
* work with the Patient Safety and Quality team to improve clinical quality and safety, ensuring the risk register is kept up to date and incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner and that learning is shared with the team.
* work with the clinical and admin leads to ensure the team works to continuously improve the safe and effective delivery of care and that the patient and carer experience is positive.
* ensure complaints are dealt with in a timely manner and any learning is shared and embedded.

* To plan the implementation of policies and service developments within the team which reflect modern evidence-based practise.
* To assist in the planning and delivery and evaluation of effective services within the locality which meet the needs of the service users and the expectations of commissioners and CCG.
* To deputise for Locality Services Manager as required during periods of leave.
* To provide routine clinical leadership, caseload management and support on a day- to-day basis for team members or junior colleagues, whilst ensuring access to appropriate professional managers over matters of professional expertise.
* Be available to team members to joint work and for consultation on complex cases.
* To undertake risk assessments in relation to vulnerable service users providing detailed advice regarding risk management plans.
* Ensure that a "Duty of Candour" is maintained with services users/carers at all time.
* Ensure services are able to be delivered safely and in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act, including monitoring the quality and safety at each site of responsibility, identifying breaches, escalating them and acting on them as soon as possible.
* Be responsible for ensuring a regular process of review is in place to detect incidents that indicate adverse quality of care, and triangulate.
* To assist the Locality Services Manager in ensuring ensure that all staff comply with Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, these are reviewed accordingly in locality meetings.
* To assist the Locality Services Manager in ensuring individual and team compliance with Risk Management Datix Register, and Health and Safety requirements inclusive of lone working by taking a lead role in these areas.
* To assist in the dissemination of policies throughout the team and to ensure understanding and application through signed accountability that content is understood and adhered to.
* To assist in the recruitment process for the team in conjunction with the Locality Services Manager.
* To effectively use human resources ensuring safe levels of staffing which reflect the necessary and appropriate skill mix.
* To ensure timely management supervision and facilitate the provision of clinical supervision for all staff and ensure that all staff receive regular professional supervision (contributing to this provision as appropriate).
* To monitor the quality of record keeping within the team set against standards that reflect the minimum requirements of the Trust and professional bodies.
* Under the direction of the Locality Services Manager, to carry out the auditing of records across the Younger Adults Service and within own team as requested.
* Support the enhancement of practice, training and development of all team members.
