About the role
The Faculty of Service Industries is looking for a passionate and experienced Counselling tutor to teach from Level 2 to Level 6 (BA). You will work closely within a small Counselling team and will take a key role in the development and delivery of the provision. Specifically, you will:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality sessions to learners, including preparation of suitable teaching materials and learning resources.
* Carry out assessments of learning considering college processes and relevant Awarding Organisation requirements.
* Support any placement element of the Counselling courses.
* Review, develop, and promote the Counselling curriculum considering national trends and developments within the sector.
* Contribute to marketing and promotion of the Counselling provision to enhance its profile.
* Respond to learner needs and welfare with guidance and support.
* Complete any necessary administrative tasks associated with the post.
About the person
The successful candidate should have the following:
* A relevant Level 7 qualification in Counselling
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification
* Teaching qualification - CertEd/PGCE
* Recent and continuing professional development related to counselling.
* Experience of working within a counselling field
* Excellent IT skills
* Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* Flexible and adaptable team worker but able to work on own initiative.
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills
