Site Agent (Civils - Environment Agency) Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire (Yorkshire & North East region) Are you an experienced Site Agent looking for a new challenge? An established national engineering contractor is seeking a dedicated Site Agent to join a dynamic engineering maintenance team focusing on civil engineering and mechanical maintenance projects for the Environment Agency. This position presents a great opportunity for long-term career stability through ongoing framework agreements with a key client. The Role: As a Site Agent, you will report directly to the Project Manager and take on responsibility for the daily management of various maintenance projects within our engineering maintenance portfolio. Your key responsibilities will include: Contract Execution: Ensure compliance with: Applicable legislation Contract Terms and Conditions Health and Safety Plan Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets Quality / Environmental Plan Project Delivery: Oversee contract delivery within budget and scheduled timeframes. Team Coordination: Liaise with site staff and the managing surveyor to monitor expenditure and avoid exceeding tender allowances. Progress Monitoring: Continuously track contract progress to achieve project objectives. Contract Changes: Identify, manage, and agree on changes to the contract with the site team. Reporting: Provide regular formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager. Requirements: To succeed in this role, you should meet the following criteria: Educational Background: Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering. Certifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme). Experience: Previous experience in a civil engineering contracting role, particularly on Environment Agency projects. Mechanical Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical engineering projects and maintenance. Permit System Familiarity: Experience working under a permit system.
