Job Overview
The Birth Centre Team provides intrapartum and postnatal care to midwife-led women in the Aylesbury Birth Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Person Specification
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* Registered Midwife
* ENB 997/MSPP
* NVQ assessor
* Evidence of further study
EXPERIENCE
* Experience as a preceptor Midwife
* Ability to be a mentor to student midwives/nurses/MCA’s
* Completion of mentor assessor workshops
* Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively within it
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
* Professional appearance and behaviour
* Clinical skills, in particular: Suturing and Cannulation
* Supervision of epidural infusion
* Good communicator both verbally and in writing
* Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
* Ability to work on own initiative and manage own time
* Knowledge of evidence-informed and research-based practice
* Willing to undertake further study
* Knowledge of NMC Code of Conduct, Guidelines and Professional Practice
* Aware of vulnerable adult and child protection issues
* Good previous attendance record
* Flexible approach to working hours and practices
* Satisfactory enhanced DBS with check against vulnerable groups barred lists
