Graduate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Newcastle
Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a positive impact in the classroom? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive and friendly school team in the Wallsend area of Newcastle. Whether you’re an experienced professional or a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
What We’re Looking For:
* A graduate who is enthusiastic about working with children and helping them succeed, even if you have no prior experience in a school setting.
* A person who is patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with students.
* Someone who is proactive and can work independently as well as within a team.
* A flexible individual who is willing to adapt to various classroom situations and support teachers in delivering a high-quality education.
* Strong communication skills, both with students and staff, and the ability to manage behavior in a positive and constructive way.
* A positive attitude with a desire to learn and grow in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support to students, particularly those with additional learning needs.
* Assisting in the delivery of the curriculum and supporting children in various activities.
* Helping to create a safe and supportive classroom environment.
* Supporting students in developing social and emotional skills.
* Monitoring and tracking progress, providing feedback to teachers, and contributing to regular assessments.
* Helping with classroom management and ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

Qualifications/Experience:
* A degree in any subject is desirable.
* Experience working with children or in a school setting is a bonus but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
