Role Description We are seeking an experienced E-Commerce Lead to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Chelmsford. This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing our e-commerce platform and driving online sales growth. You will take ownership of the entire e-commerce function, including website management, digital marketing strategy, and customer experience optimisation. As the E-Commerce Lead, you will be responsible for managing the website’s day-to-day operations, improving conversions, overseeing SEO and paid media campaigns, and using data-driven insights to drive performance improvements. You’ll also collaborate closely with our creative team to ensure our online presence aligns with the brand’s tone and vision. We are also exploring how AI and generative AI can enhance the e-commerce experience, and we expect you to have an interest in these technologies. While deep expertise isn’t required, a foundational understanding and the drive to learn about how these tools can support growth will be important. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 4 years of e-commerce and digital marketing experience to take the next step in their career and play a vital role in our continued growth. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and optimise our Shopify Plus platform, ensuring the website is fully functional, user-friendly, and continuously improving the customer journey. • Develop and execute strategies to increase traffic, conversion rates, and overall sales. • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, creative, and marketing) to ensure digital strategies align with broader business objectives. • Oversee SEO and paid media campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads), ensuring they deliver strong ROI. • Implement A/B testing and other strategies to improve site performance and user engagement. • Monitor, analyse, and report on performance metrics, using insights to inform future campaigns. • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity to ensure we maintain a competitive edge. • Work closely with suppliers, ensuring product listings are up-to-date and optimised for search. • Support the development and execution of seasonal and promotional campaigns (e.g., Black Friday/Cyber Monday). • Keep informed about emerging technologies like AI and generative AI, exploring how they can be used to enhance e-commerce performance and customer experiences. Qualifications & Experience: • At least 4 years of experience in e-commerce, preferably with Shopify Plus or similar platforms. • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, paid social, and content marketing. • Analytical mindset with experience using Google Analytics or similar tools to assess performance and make data-driven decisions. • Familiarity with the automotive aftermarket industry or a passion for cars is highly desirable. • Proven track record of improving site performance and driving revenue growth. • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams. • Self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment. • A degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred but not essential. • Basic understanding of AI and generative AI, with a desire to learn more about these technologies and how they can benefit e-commerce.
