Warehouse Manager / Supervisor - Immediate start
Description/Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring that all processes, including receiving, storing, and shipping products, are executed efficiently and accurately.
Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to improve efficiency and safety.
Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and ensure accurate inventory records.
Coordinate and optimise the use of warehouse space and equipment.
Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and company guidelines.
2. Staff Supervision:
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Schedule and assign tasks to staff, ensuring that all operations run smoothly.
Foster a positive and productive work environment by promoting teamwork.
3. Inventory Control:
Monitor stock levels and perform regular stock audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
Implement and manage inventory control systems to reduce errors and improve order fulfillment accuracy.
4. Despatching and Goods In:
Hands-on role in the accurate receiving of raw material and ensure that products are inspected, labelled, and stored correctly.
Manage outbound deliveries, ensuring that orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
5. Health and Safety:
Ensure that the warehouse complies with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to minimise workplace accidents and injuries.
Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency.
6. Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and identify areas for improvement.
Implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in warehouse management.
7. Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, including key metrics such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and shipping times.
Communicate effectively with other departments, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise within the warehouse.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
* Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager / Stores Supervisor.
* Fork lift operator with a strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
* Experience in Aerospace or other highly regulated industries where material traceability is key.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, responsible, reliable, and self-motivated.
* Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse operations and strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Relevant certifications in warehouse management or logistics preferred (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified in Production and Inventory Management), or qualified by experience.
* Familiarisation with saws for cutting material and eagerness to learn and develop.
* Clean drivers licence for occasional local customer deliveries in van.
