We’re looking for a Junior Data Insight Analyst to join our established Data Analytics team, until the end of March 2027. The team supports the RNLI by providing analysis of data to support decision making at strategic and tactical levels across the Institution. Our evidence informs operational decisions about the allocation and location of RNLI resources, including lifeboats, lifeguard units and coastal safety, as well as strategic decisions around training, volunteering and safety. This role will support the team by producing repeatable and high-quality operational analysis and insight to support the RNLI in making evidence-led decisions, ensuring data is available, well-structured and high quality.

Your role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow within a data-driven organisation. As a Junior Data Insight Analyst, you will support the data analytics team by collecting, cleansing and analysing internal and external data to underpin significant organisational decisions around strategy, operational practice and lifeboat configuration. This role will support the team by transforming complex analyses into clear, actionable insights through compelling visualisations.
You will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
* Assist in collecting and processing internal and external data ready for analysis.
* Monitoring requests into the team and performing basic analysis to fulfil customer requirements.
* Support the development of reports and analytical outputs to visualise key insights and support core business processes.
* Work closely with data analysts to engage stakeholders and identify their data needs and requirements.
* Support the wider team in the delivery of analysis products and reports.
* Support the team in broadening the team’s analytical focus into all areas of the organisation.
* Ensure analytical outputs are securely stored, easily accessible, and visible to the appropriate customers.
* Learn from senior team members and develop technical skills in Python, SQL and ArcGIS tools.
* Help maintain data documentation.

Essential:
* Experience in analysing data and ability to work with large datasets
* Effective communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills.
* IT proficiency with a foundational understanding of coding languages, such as SQL and Python, and knowledge of GIS tools.
Desirable:
* Understanding of the RNLI and/or the maritime, marine, or coastal environment
