Main duties of the job As a Waking Nights Care Support Officer, you will provide waking night support for the children and young people, where no two nights are the same. You'll work a ten-hour night shift (specific hours to be determined). The ideal candidate should be flexible for planned annual leave and short-notice sick leave coverage. Our ideal candidate will have experience of caring for children and young people, and ideally a background in supporting children and young people with complex health, care and learning needs. A Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard/Level 3 Diploma for Residential childcare or equivalent alongside a strong understanding of confidentiality, trust, child-centred care and support and effective safeguarding will be essential to carry out this role. This will involve taking part in handover. You will be required to follow instruction from the shift leader to ensure smooth and efficient running of the home, be a team player and be flexible in your management of disruptions/changes within the nightly routine.
