Key Support Worker - Norwich

Headway Norfolk and Waveney aims to improve lives impacted by brain injury including stroke and encephalitis. We support people and families to come to terms with their new circumstances, re-integrate into family and community life, and maximise their opportunities, choices, and independence.
Key support worker responsibilities include:
1. Enable clients to achieve independence as far as possible in all areas of their life by providing appropriate information, opportunity, training, and support.
2. Develop and deliver person-centred activities across a range of core areas.
3. Assist in devising, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing client plans.
4. Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation.
5. Support clients to meet their personal care needs sensitively and appropriately to a high standard, including the preparation of meals and drinks as required by the Area Manager and/or other professionals caring for them.
6. Liaise and coordinate with other team members to provide a cohesive, high-quality service.
7. Support clients to ensure prescribed medicines are taken, in accordance with Headway Norfolk & Waveney medicine policies. This does not include administering medicines.
8. Support clients to identify, work toward, and review goals in line with the Outcomes Star and other relevant goal-setting processes.
We have a vacancy available for a Part-Time Support Worker in Norwich as part of our Norwich and South Norfolk team. This is a varied role working as part of the Headway teams providing person-centred day opportunities for people with brain injury through group support, purposeful centre-based activities, and one-to-one outreach work and groups in the community.
Headway Norfolk and Waveney's main Norwich service runs Wed - Fri between 08:30 - 16:30 at Bowthorpe Road Chinese Methodist Church, Bowthorpe Road, Norwich, NR5 8AB & our hub satellites as needed.
Annual leave: 33 days including bank holidays pro-rata.
Contracts: 22.5 hrs permanent contract plus opportunity for overtime as service develops.
Mentor support and specialist training will be given.

Ideally, you will have a clean driving licence and have a vehicle to travel to various locations in Norfolk and to people’s homes to suit the needs of the business.
