We never stop striving to provide friendly, professional, and inspirational services that we would want to experience ourselves THE ROLE We have a fantastic opportunity for Supported Living Senior Support Worker to join our team in Reading. You will join us on a full-time contract in return for a competitive salary. The service provides support to adults with mental health issues, assisting them to live life the way they want in their own environment. You will work closely with Service Manager to ensure that people we support are at the centre of what we do. You will lead and guide our experienced and dedicated team of Support Staff ensuring that quality of care provided is at highest level. People we support in Reading are very independent, who very often only need assistance of our support staff and senior support workers to enable them to return to their lives. Specific tasks of the role include, but are not limited to: Assist and devise person centred care plans and review progress, liaising with families and professional agencies as necessary. Communicate with support workers to provide support, guidance and information. Guide and lead Support Workers to develop and maintain high standards of care. Implement staff rotas ensuring that the service is adequately staffed at all times. To assist with medication and accurate recording of medication. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with people we support and help them to develop necessary life skills and satisfy needs. Participate in an on-call rota system and provide hands on support when required. Your standard working hours would be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm however you will be required to cover shifts out of office hours and over the weekend as and if needed As a team leader you will be required to work on the floor supporting our clients. It’s a full time 37.5 hours post which requires you to spend 50% of your working time in the office supporting service manager. Remaining hours you will be required to complete on the floor supporting our staff and clients. Skills and Experience required: Ideally you will have experience of working and leading a team in a supported living environment however guidance and support from our experienced manager will be provided Personal care is required in all our locations so you will have experience providing personal care. Experience with Mental Health, excellent written and spoken English. You don’t need to be a driver as service has very good commuting links. The shifts are 12hours, week and weekends and paid on call.
