NHS Highland Estates Dept. requires a Maintenance Fitter/Plumber Craftsperson based at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban.
Applicants should have an appropriate and relevant trades qualification with significant experience in a maintenance environment, preferably within the NHS or similar organisation.
Familiarity and use of computerised maintenance systems is desirable and a flexible approach to work is essential as is the willingness to work throughout Argyll & Bute HSCP, including at times, overnight. A full current driving licence is essential.
The successful candidate will be required to participate on an on-call rota for Lorn and Islands Hospital, which normally will be 1 week in 4.
In addition to the base salary, on-call payments and long term recruitment and retention premium are applicable taking initial OTE to approximately £36k (plus overtime if required by service).

Annual leave entitlement starts at 27 days, rising to 33 days after 10 years service (+ 8 days public holidays).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
