Job Title: Joiner- Facilities Management Sector\n\nLocation: Covering sites across Edinburgh\n\nSalary: £36,000.00 per annum + on call + Overtime\n\nOn Call Frequency: 1 week in every 6 (Roughly)| If you are called out, overtime is paid door to door 1.5x\n\nBenefits: Company Vehicle with fuel card (personal use), strong company pension scheme, BUPA (single cover), 33 days holiday (including bank holidays). Overtime available at time and a half.\n\nHours: 40 hours a week – Monday to Friday (8.30 until 5 pm)\n\nOur client is one of the UK’s leaders in providing innovative construction and engineering solutions for clients within a variety of sectors including Retail, Health, Education and Commercial.\n\nDue to a new contract win, our client is now looking to recruit an experienced Joiner to look after facilities across the region.\n\nJob Purpose:\n\nReporting to the regional supervisor, this is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive building maintenance across a number of sites. To Undertake Joiner works, repairs, maintenance and small works installation on a new framework covering various properties within the Edinburgh postcode.
Works to be completed within agreed timescales whilst complying with company policy and procedure.\n\nKey Accountabilities:\n\n * To undertake planned works, working to an agreed programme, within live buildings, accommodation units and laboratory environments to name a few.\n\n * Completing reactive work orders in the allotted time scale for each set of works.\n\n * Working within and as part of the Technical Services Maintenance team and proactively identifying and consulting on task trends and recurring issues which may cause future maintenance problems\n\n * Undertake planned and reactive maintenance works in accordance with contractual KPI’s.\n\n * Identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the Regional Supervisor of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable alternatives.\n\n * Carry out minor small work alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications.\n\n * Maintain accurate time sheets and mileage logs as required.\n\n * Work with company and client colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.\n\n * Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, HSE management systems, procedures or instructions as they apply and to ensure that all direct reports are adequately trained and follow safe systems of work;\n\nCandidates background & experience:\n\n * NVQ Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent);\n\n * CSCS Skill card (Joiner);\n\n * Experience of undertaking plumbing/drainage works and PAT testing;\n\n * SPA, IPAF & PASMA\n\n * Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;\n\n * Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload;\n\n * Full/clean driving licence.\n\nExperience\n\n * Proven experience in joinery or carpentry is essential.\n\n * Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade.\n\n * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.\n\n * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.\n\nTo apply for this role please submit your full and up to date CV to Andrew Bridges at PDA SEARCH & SELECTION LIMITED
