Role: Toxicologist (Environmental Analytical Chemistry)
Contract Role
Location: Remote, UK Coverage
We are currently seeking an Independent Analytical Chemistry Technical Assessor in Toxicology. Our external Technical Assessors play a vital role in the UKAS assessment process, providing essential expertise to deliver robust evaluations for laboratories across the UK.
Ongoing right to work in the UK is a pre-requisite of this position.
Ideal candidates will have experience in toxicology or workplace drug testing, along with the following qualifications:
1. Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory.
2. A deep understanding of quality control across a range of analytical techniques.
3. A thorough knowledge of data performance checks and data integrity requirements.
4. Experience handling relevant matrices involved in toxicology testing.
5. Direct experience with both screening and instrumental techniques.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management, and customers at all levels.
Key Skills:
1. Proven practical experience in a laboratory setting.
2. Up-to-date and detailed knowledge relevant to your field of expertise, including industry-standard methods and relevant sector schemes.
3. Proven experience in ISO/IEC 17025 standard testing and calibration laboratories.
4. Some experience in internal or external auditing would be advantageous.
5. Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating with Certification Body staff, Senior Management Teams, Assessment Centres, and customers at all levels.
6. Full training will be provided to become an Assessor in Report Writing to UKAS requirements, including ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standard awareness and UKAS systems training.
