Job Overview
In this important role, you will plan and implement high-quality support for women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse. Leading casework and providing specialist and pro-active services to victims, you will lead on referrals into the community team and develop and deliver a range of support services to women and their children.
You will ensure that any issues related to the safeguarding of children or vulnerable adults are responded to in line with Panahghar policies and procedures, including completing Child Protection and MARAC referrals.
You will recognize, respect, and address the needs of those who face barriers when seeking help to access the service, including those from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, LGBT communities, disabled people, those with complex needs, and other hard-to-reach groups.
This is not your normal 9am to 5pm job, as you will be managing a high number of caseloads. We require someone who is flexible and understands the nature of this role, which may involve working out of hours or at night.
To be successful in this role, you will need experience working with BAME communities experiencing domestic violence and working within a social care/welfare setting, along with knowledge of safeguarding guidelines to protect and promote the well-being of children and vulnerable adults.
Qualified within this field, you will have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislations such as the Children’s Act, Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Domestic Violence Crime and Victims Act, Forced Marriages (Civil Protection) Act 2007, and the new Domestic Abuse Bill.
An adaptable and flexible individual who thrives under pressure, you will have excellent communication skills, fluent in English and at least one main BAME language.
You will have the ability to organize and prioritize your workload, work as part of a team, and use your initiative.
You will need to be able to drive with a current driving license, access to a vehicle, and business insurance, along with a clear DBS.
