Off the back of 25% & 19% growth in the preceding years, this global broker’s Major Account Team’s regional operation has got off to a barnstorming start for 2025; it has just announced being appointed by a well-known food & beverage account, and a global tech/broadcasting client.
Due to the forthcoming retirement of an experienced Account Executive / Director, the need has arisen for a ‘safe pair of hands’ to join the team and inherit a portfolio of longstanding and loyal ‘trophy’ accounts. There is scope to tweak this portfolio according to skills, experience and ambitions, but it could well include a £300,000 fee manufacturer, and other challenging six-figure income risks including global clients and those with their own protected cell. As such, this role is very much focused on the management of existing accounts, rather than developing new business.
Here, you will benefit from a lengthy handover from the retiring colleague, and with the support of a dedicated team of Corporate Account Handlers, Brokers and Claims Executives, you’ll develop a detailed understanding of your clients’ businesses, the risks they face, and their attitude to risk. Over the coming years, you will ensure that the insurance programme remains robust, and should emerging risks evolve, you will work with colleagues to ensure that these are comprehensively mitigated.
Whilst it is not essential that you have previously dealt with six-figure income or global cases, you must have dealt with middle-market and relatively complex risks paying commission or fees in excess of £25,000. It is equally important that you are able to secure ‘buy in’ from sophisticated insurance buyers, and build sound professional rapport with C-suite level clientele from all walks of life. You should have a detailed understanding of all common commercial covers, such as Property, Liability, Fleet, Directors’ & Officers and Professional Indemnity. Whilst this is not a management position, you will be required to set tasks to support personnel such as Corporate Account Handlers, so you must be confident in allocating workloads.
In return, you will receive a generous basic salary that is entirely negotiable, coupled with a fantastic bonus and flexible-benefits package. For the ambitious, this broker is well-known for offering a myriad of opportunities for professional development and progression.
