WasteRecruit is partnering with a leading renewable energy provider to recruit a skilled and experienced Site Leader to oversee multiple sites in North-East Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing and innovative sector, leading operations and ensuring the delivery of business objectives.
Role Overview
As Site Leader, you will be accountable for the full Profit & Loss (P&L) of operations across multiple sites, overseeing budgets, key performance indicators (KPIs), data-driven decision-making, and regulatory compliance. You will lead both direct and indirect reports, manage relationships with third-party partners, and ensure all operational targets are met. Additionally, you will be part of the on-call escalation process for the sites within the wider group.
Key Responsibilities
1. P&L Responsibility: Ensure financial targets are met through effective cost management, strategic planning, and budget oversight.
2. Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and industry standards (COMAH, OFGEM, ISO, etc.).
3. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 10+ people, fostering a culture of safety, high performance, and continuous improvement.
4. Operational Excellence: Drive improvements through data analysis, trend identification, and corrective action where necessary.
5. Stakeholder Management: Act as the key point of contact for third-party authorities and governing bodies.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Proven Leadership: At least 5 years in a senior leadership role, managing teams of 10+ individuals, with a track record of driving performance.
2. Operational Expertise: Strong background in operations within a production or manufacturing environment, ideally in the renewable energy sector.
3. Financial Acumen: Experience managing P&L accounts and controlling budgets.
4. Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with industry standards and regulations (e.g., COMAH, SEPA, HSE).
5. Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable solutions.
6. Safety Focused: Knowledge of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) compliance and fostering a culture of safe working.
7. Advanced IT Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Degree in an engineering or science discipline (or equivalent experience).
2. NEBOSH Certification or similar safety qualifications.
3. Six Sigma or process-related training.
4. Experience in Anaerobic Digestion or related sectors.
5. Experience in auditing or setting up new sites.
