They are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join their European Office of the General Counsel (OGC) team. This role will focus on advising and supporting the company’s ESG and Investment Stewardship programmes. Working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel, this is your chance to contribute to an industry-leading ESG strategy while thriving in a collaborative, dynamic environment. If you have experience with ESG regulatory frameworks, sustainable finance, and are keen to make a meaningful impact, this is the perfect role for you. Requirements 1–5 years PQE: Qualified lawyer with experience in financial services, either in-house or in private practice. Regulatory expertise: Experience advising on UK and European financial regulations, ideally in the asset management sector. Sustainable finance & ESG focus: Familiarity with legal and regulatory obligations related to ESG and sustainable finance measures. Product knowledge: Understanding of asset management products and services across retail and institutional markets (cross-border experience is advantageous). Analytical & organisational skills: Proven research capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment. Communication & collaboration: Excellent stakeholder management and a can-do attitude. Core Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert on sustainable finance and ESG initiatives. Advise on the company’s Investment Stewardship programme, including governance, engagement, voting, and regulatory reporting. Provide legal advice on EU and UK ESG regulations and assist in the integration of these requirements into the business framework. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Compliance, Government Relations, and Investment Stewardship, to address ESG regulatory impacts. Support regulatory change management and provide guidance to product development teams on sustainable finance considerations. Offer governance advice to ensure oversight and management of ESG-related risks. Develop awareness of investment industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the business.
