JOB TITLE: Business Intelligence (BI) Manager EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer JOB SUMMARY: The Business Intelligence (BI) Manager at Portwest will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our data strategy, with a strong emphasis on innovation and the future integration of artificial intelligence capabilities. This role will focus on managing and optimizing our BI tools, primarily QlikView, Qlik Sense, and Power BI, to develop and enhance business dashboards and analytics. The BI Manager will lead a small team of BI Analysts, driving data initiatives that support the company's strategic goals and foster a culture of innovation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and mentor a team of BI Analysts in developing business dashboards and reports. Develop and implement a comprehensive BI strategy aligned with overall business objectives and innovation goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key business needs and provide actionable data insights. Foster continuous improvement and innovation within the BI team to stay current with BI technologies and trends. Allocate up to 20% of time exploring AI and Machine Learning solutions to enhance insights. Manage and maintain QlikView, Qlik Sense, and Power BI environments for optimal performance and user accessibility. Oversee the development of data models, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making. Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across all BI platforms. Explore and evaluate emerging BI tools and AI-driven analytics to enhance data capabilities. Lead initiatives integrating AI and Machine Learning into BI processes for more actionable insights. Collaborate with departments like Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to meet their data needs with tailored solutions. Communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders and promote BI tools across the organisation. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; master's degree preferred. 5 years of experience in a Business Intelligence role, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership position. Proven experience with QlikView, Qlik Sense, and Power BI, including dashboard development and data modelling. Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management. Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and their application in BI. Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to think strategically and drive innovative solutions. Experience in a manufacturing or retail environment is a plus.
