Project Overview:
This project involves the study, design, construction, and commissioning of a new production unit aimed at achieving a 73-million-unit capacity. Scope includes storage, production, packaging equipment, land development, groundworks, access roads, parking, and a new 26,500 m² production building. Additionally, a new power supply and distribution from the grid will be incorporated. This facility is planned to replace the existing plant located approximately 30 km away.
Scope of Work:
The EC&I Supervisor will oversee all Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation activities on-site, ensuring project completion on time and within budget. This includes enforcing compliance with all standards, safety protocols, UK legislation, and contractor specifications. Duties also encompass quality assurance, site safety, and the supervision of field personnel. Regular participation in daily meetings for project activity updates is expected. The role requires maintaining site office operations and overseeing project closure, reporting directly to the Construction Manager and indirectly to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring Contractor Activities: Oversee EPC contractor’s E&I work, including site inspections, audits, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of E&I systems.
2. Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Review E&I installations for adherence to designs and technical specifications; identify and address deviations promptly.
3. Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status, highlighting challenges, delays, or risks.
4. Safety & Compliance: Promote safety on-site, ensuring the contractor adheres to all HSE regulations. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments regularly.
5. Problem-Solving: Identify and address on-site E&I issues, implementing solutions to mitigate delays and quality concerns.
6. Documentation & Reporting: Ensure documentation for E&I works, including progress reports, quality checks, as-built drawings, and daily logs.
7. Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues or implement design changes.
8. EPC Contractor Interface: Act as the main contact for E&I issues, facilitating communication to ensure smooth project progress.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Minimum of 5 years as an E&I Supervisor, ideally in process plant environments.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
3. Strong report-writing skills and ability to communicate professionally with vendors and clients.
4. Thorough understanding of technical documents, such as P&IDs, electrical schematics, and maintenance instructions.
5. Excellent communication skills, especially in interfacing with customers, clients, and visitors.
6. Observant of compliance standards, with the ability to propose solutions for any issues identified.
7. Physically capable of on-site mobility in varying weather and terrain.
8. Experience managing construction schedules and adjusting for potential deviations.
9. Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with clients and visitors.
10. Certification in Electrical Installation (C&G 2367/2357 and NVQ Level 3).
11. Familiarity with BS EN 61511 and BS7671 regulations for safety systems and electrical installations (18th Edition is a plus).
12. CSCS card compatible with the role.
