Strategist Here's what you'll be doing As a Strategist you will develop the overarching strategy for the EIS business as well as the commercial strategies for each of the individual businesses/product lines within it. Establishing clear sources of competitive advantage and performance measures to drive progress, growth and sustainability. As part of the role you will be expected to work with the UK EIS Exec and Group EIS to develop the overall strategy for the business and collaborate with specific directorates and commercial teams in order to build the strategy and a consensus for action and implementation. Using your expertise and knowledge you will have the scope to make decisions on the structure and timeline of projects and make recommendations on market positioning, growth opportunities and priorities to UK EIS and UK Board. Main responsibilities of the role Together with the Strategy Manager develop and maintain the EIS Strategy within the overall E.ON UK and E.ON Group strategic context. Develop and maintain a clear set of EIS wide priorities and opportunities for growth. Support the UK EIS leadership team in making the appropriate trade-off between current EBIT generation, sustainability, and future growth potential. Undertake qualitative and quantitative research and analysis to inform strategy development and strategic decisions, including assessments of customers, markets, technologies, policies, new business models and competitor strategies. Work on a variety of strategic projects, involving senior stakeholders (e.g. UK Board, UKLT, other RUs, Global Functions and Group Management) often against tight deadlines. Help diagnose strategic problems and develop options for consideration. Assess and evaluate strategic options, including development of financial models and make recommendations. Help translate the strategy into key decisions and business plans. Support communication of the strategy. Write reports and presentations for Board level internal and external audiences. Facilitate strategy workshops and make presentations, mainly at Senior Management and occasionally at Director level. Apply a broad range of strategy techniques. Maintain a good understanding of how the business operates (across all customer segments) and the external commercial and economic environment. What we need from you A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving. Demonstratable experience of financial analysis. Able to undertake qualitative analysis to identify then convert themes into meaningful and tangible outputs. Comfortable working on multiple projects with changing priorities often involving ambiguity and tight timescales. Ability to work closely and collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the business. Strong level of understanding of the current Solutions markets, current competitor propositions and have a broad overview of new emerging technologies across the UK Solutions Pillar. It would be great if you have Degree, with a numerate discipline. Previous experience of applying strategy tools and approaches. Experience of financial modelling. Knowledge and understanding of the commercial environment, regulatory framework and market context of UK Energy Infrastructure Solutions and wider Group businesses. Commercial experience.
