The Future Forest Company (
We are on a mission to remove as much excess CO2 from the atmosphere as we can. We do this by creating and restoring carbon rich habitats and protecting biodiversity in order to avoid the most disastrous effects of global warming and the climate crisis. We are an impact for profit organisation, achieving our mission through the use of nature-based carbon solutions, planting profitable native broadleaf forests, restoring peatland and developing biodiversity projects. Our goal is to scale our operations, plant millions of trees, restore thousands of hectares of habitat and grow a climate solution which removes significant amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere. We currently manage 10 sites across Scotland and one site in the Yorkshire dales ranging between 15ha and 900ha.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who is happy to work independently to lead the development of our sites. This person needs to have relevant experience and a passion for the environment. The various related projects include reforestation, regeneration of depleted ecosystems and sustainable agriculture. These will all help deliver the company’s objectives for carbon sequestration, biodiversity enhancement, growth through profit and enhanced opportunities for public engagement with the sites.
The role will include:
· Ensuring our sites (11 in total) meet their considerable potential for delivering climate, conservation and community objectives.
· Leading the vision and direction for the sites through the implementation of our integrated management plans.
· Identifying management priorities for each site and developing and managing the property budgets.
· Working with communities local to our land, key stakeholders, and neighbouring landowners and businesses.
· Ensuring the maintenance of the key infrastructure on our various sites.
· Maximising other revenue sources, including ecotourism and enhanced visitor experiences.
· Taking responsibility for the safe and compliant management of operations, working with colleagues to ensure risks are managed.
