How you’ll make a difference Based in the IT Operations Bridge in Edinburgh, or remotely via our flexible working policy the IT Operations Analyst position is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and assessing potential issues relating to critical IT applications, systems and devices in a 24x7x365 environment to minimise any adverse impact on business operations - therefore flexible working patterns are a requirement. The IT Operations Analyst will monitor all incoming alerts using various tools such as Dynatrace and ServiceNow, and perform actions based on predefined instructions. This includes performing 1st and 2nd level troubleshooting, alert correlation, resolving issues as required and engaging in other service management processes such as Incident Management and Knowledge Management. The successful candidate will have opportunity to experience multiple roles within CIO, helping to develop a broad IT skillset and provide excellent development opportunities. What you’ll bring • An analytical mind, pragmatic approach, and interest in investigating IT alerts and potential anomalies. • Ability to perform troubleshooting and incident response tasks on various systems. • Good communication skills as you will be required to work with key stakeholders and support incident resolution with internal and third-party technical teams. • Comfortable speaking out in technical calls to provide monitoring and service status updates. • An interest in working within Information Technology within the banking industry – ideally, we’d like you to have a good understanding of services and have been exposed to a wide range of areas from infrastructure to microservices and applications. • Previous experience analysing alerts from monitoring tools to triage any potential incidents would be desirable.
