Are you looking for an opportunity to develop or advance your paediatric skills? We are looking for a full-time permanent Band 6 dietitian to join our specialist paediatric team at University Hospitals Dorset.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will provide specialist paediatric dietetic advice to children and their families to achieve optimum nutritional wellbeing, growth and development. They will participate in paediatric outpatient clinics, including dietetic led clinics and MDT clinics. The role involves providing a dietetic inpatient service to paediatric wards, including but not limited to children with faltering growth, obesity, infant and toddler nutrition issues, allergy, eating disorders, and those requiring nutrition support.
This role is currently based at Poole Hospital; however, we anticipate the relocation of services to a brand-new, purpose-built women's and children's unit on the Bournemouth site, with an expected completion date in 2025/6.
We work closely with the entire paediatric MDT, including consultants, specialist nurses, psychologists, ward and support staff, as well as health visitors and children's community nurses.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics or Post-Graduate Diploma in Dietetics.
* Member of paediatric related BDA specialist.
* Training or experience in leadership and appraisal skills.
* Post-Graduate Paediatric dietetic training.
* Clinical supervisory skills training.
Experience
* Experience in giving clinical education to staff, students or assistants and providing constructive feedback.
* Experience of working as part of an MDT.
* Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Band 5 dietitian with evidence of interest in paediatric dietetics.
* Experience of using leadership skills in the operational management of staff including supervision and/or appraisals of Dietitians/assistant staff.
* Competence and experience of advanced communication skills including motivational interviewing and encouraging behavioural change.
* Experience of working in Paediatrics.
* Experience of supporting and assessing student dietitians.
Skills
* Up-to-date with evidence-based professional practice and research.
* Able to present information, written and verbal, in a clear & logical manner.
* Ability to organise, prioritise & delegate.
* Ability to collect and analyse nutritional data.
* Able to cope in a stressful environment and with emotional or stressed patients and families.
Knowledge
* Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at post-graduate courses.
* Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services.
* Knowledge of issues related to a wide range of paediatric dietetic practice areas (including but not limited to faltering growth, allergy, and nutrition support).
