6. Provide appropriate support and facilitate staff development by monitoring operations, providing mentoring support, on-the-job training. Facilitate defusing and de-briefing sessions with staff in order to evaluate and identify individual needs, address adverse reactions following incidents in order to ensure staff welfare and optimise performance.7. Contribute to the overall development of the ambulance service, including working closely with Senior Officers and in developing service policies and procedures. Play an active role in the implementation and monitoring of new procedures and clinical practices, providing leadership, professional guidance and expertise. Ensure staff are aware of and comply with service policies and procedures, assist in the development of operational and clinical policy.8. To undertake a range of duties e.g. production and maintenance of operational rosters, completion of daily crew sheets and crew boards; monitoring and reordering drugs/stores/medical consumables/laundry etc. collecting, checking and inputting (sensitive patient data) of Patient Report Forms from each emergency call. Oversee the deep cleaning of service vehicles to current Infection Prevention and Control standards. Take responsibility for specific work streams allocated by the Head of Operations (e.g. infection control, drugs management).9. Undertake Performance Review and Appraisals of staff, identifying staff development / training needs. Complete all corresponding documentation in a timely manner. As an active Paramedic maintain registration with the Health Care Professions Council, complying with their standards. Regularly update knowledge of technical and clinical/medical developments within the Ambulance Service and Paramedic Practice, including all lifesaving procedures, as recognised in other jurisdictions. Respond to medical incidents, often as a lone responder, ensuring patient assessment and treatment is carried out professionally and within the agreed clinical guidelines/scope of practice. Take charge on scene as required.
