Job Title: Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our team in Burnley. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning and significant experience working with children in school settings. This role will involve providing support to students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), SEMH, or challenging behaviors.
Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individualised education plans for students with SEMH needs.
2. Provide tailored support to students to help them manage their emotions and behaviors effectively.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
4. Assist with the implementation of behavior management strategies and interventions.
5. Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) and external agencies, to ensure the holistic well-being of students.
6. Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning activities.
7. Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
Requirements:
8. A relevant qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
9. Previous experience working with students with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behavior in a school setting.
10. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
13. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the needs of all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
