The successful apprentice will support teaching and learning by leading small intervention groups, assisting on school trips, supervising playground activities, and working toward a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Work collaboratively with teachers, leaders, HLTAs, and teaching assistants under the direction of the Headteacher.
* Foster pupil participation in both social and academic activities by recognizing individual needs, implementing appropriate responses, and encouraging independence.
* Deliver and review learning activities for individuals, groups, or whole classes, ensuring alignment with best practices and national guidelines.
* Support pupils’ development through effective strategies, modifying resources as needed, and contributing to planning and evaluation of teaching and learning activities.
* Promote positive behaviour by implementing a fair and consistent behaviour management strategy and reinforcing positive actions.
* Provide literacy and numeracy support to enable access to the wider curriculum, while monitoring progress and addressing challenges.
* Safeguard pupil welfare by recognizing signs of abuse, following procedures, and addressing concerns sensitively and appropriately.
* Build positive relationships with pupils, supporting their emotional, social, and behavioural needs, including transitions and personal care.
* Assist pupils with English as an additional language and adapt strategies to support their progress.

During this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief, social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils’ wellbeing. You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge.
