We are seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing Special School in Harlow. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting academic and emotional development. Assist class teachers with planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet individual learning objectives. Create a safe and supportive classroom environment, fostering positive relationships with students. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required. Support students in developing social skills and managing behaviours using therapeutic strategies. Assist with educational trips, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment opportunities. Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and maintain confidentiality in all professional matters. Qualifications and Experience Experience working with children with SEMH, Autism, or Moderate Learning Difficulties. Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning, such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Familiarity with attachment theory and behaviour management strategies. A compassionate and patient attitude, with excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
