Post 1: Fixed term for 1 year 11 months, 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Band 6 - £42,632 to £47,874 per annum About the Post The posts have been created because of the expansion of the postgraduate (PG) Business courses at the University of Suffolk. Working primarily within our International Business Management (IBM) programme. The post-holder will work with colleagues to deliver our international postgraduate programmes, whilst acting as a dissertation supervisor. We would be particularly interested in academics with postgraduate experience in modules covering International Business or International Marketing or Change Management or Decision Making and Managing People Effectively; thus, experience working with, or alongside, these sectors/areas will be an advantage. It would also be advantageous to have some course leader experience of postgraduate programmes. About the Team The Business subject area is going through a period of rapid growth of our postgraduate programmes and require additional resource. Although the team is small currently, we expect to see resources grow alongside the growth of several programmes. Collaboration is key to our success with most staff involved in teaching across programmes, working with colleagues in other schools or departments and engaging with professional practice, knowledge exchange and research. Our focus is on supporting one another to succeed together and will look for the post-holder to demonstrate a commitment to working in this manner. About You You will have a background with experience in teaching and developing postgraduate-level courses. Specialisation in areas such as International Business, International Marketing, Change Management, Decision Making, and Managing People Effectively is highly desirable. Dissertation Supervision is also important to this role and experience in supervising postgraduate dissertations, guiding students through the research process, and ensuring high academic standards. Adaptability: A proactive approach to adapting teaching methods and content to suit the needs of a diverse, international student body. Teaching and Delivery: Delivering engaging and high-quality teaching across international business management modules and possibly other postgraduate courses as needed. Supervision and Guidance: Acting as a dissertation supervisor for postgraduate students, providing mentorship and academic guidance throughout their research. Collaboration and Support: Working closely with the growing team to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning. This includes participation in interdisciplinary collaborations and contribution to school-wide activities.
