An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Medical Secretary to work in the Community Mental Health Team based at the Johnsons Community Hospital.
The team is multidisciplinary and provides comprehensive trauma informed bio-psychosocial assessment and intervention to those of working age who are experiencing severe mental illness. It forms part of the Spalding & South Lincolnshire Locality mental health provision. The team is actively working to develop the range of effective and evidence-based social and psychologically informed interventions available within the locality and to embed the open dialogue approach and Maastricht principles within our practice. The successful candidate's values and enthusiasm will be in keeping with this transformation.
The post holder will be required to provide efficient secretarial support to Consultants, Junior Medical Staff, and an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and assist in the organization of their workload. They will be expected to act on their own initiative and provide cover and support for other administrative staff as required to facilitate effective service function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide efficient and effective medical secretarial support to Consultants, Junior Medical Staff, and the Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
2. Assist in the organization of their workload.
3. Act on own initiative and provide cross cover/support for other secretaries as necessary.
4. Provide a professional service ensuring all telephone and personal inquiries are dealt with in a polite, confidential, and efficient manner.
5. Provide a full clerical service to the clinical staff and admin team, including dealing with incoming mail and assisting with routine typing tasks.
6. Respond to queries and incoming calls.
7. Ensure patient and staff confidentiality is maintained adhering to Trust and national policies.
8. Manage workload under supervision, performing routine office procedures including typing of reports, letters, and other documents.
9. Maintain electronic systems including email, SHARON, Clinical systems, and Datix, updating these systems in a timely and accurate manner.
10. Participate in the supervision and appraisal process as necessary.
11. Contribute to the maintenance of a psychologically safe environment where the voice, skills, and experience of all are valued and nurtured.
