Job Summary
The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to the sales team and customers during the sales process. This role involves understanding the customer’s technical needs, delivering product demonstrations, developing solutions, and creating technical solutions that align with the client's requirements. Requires quick thinking and operating in a fast-paced environment where delivering solutions quickly is paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
* Client Engagement: Collaborate with sales teams and clients to understand business and technical requirements. Build strong relationships with clients to become a trusted technical advisor.
* Solution Design and Recommendations: Design, configure, and recommend solutions based on customer needs, industry trends, and the company’s product offerings. Tailor short videos and demonstrations to show how products or solutions will address customer pain points.
* Product Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to clients in person and remotely. Highlight key features, benefits, and use cases relevant to the customer's business needs.
* Technical Support for Sales: Provide technical expertise during the sales process, including answering client questions, handling technical objections, and addressing potential concerns. Collaborate with sales teams to close deals.
* Contributing to Proposal Creation: Assist in preparing and reviewing technical content for proposals, RFPs, and RFQs. Ensure that all technical aspects of the proposal align with the client's requirements.
* Proof of Concept (PoC) / Trials: Assist in setting up PoC or trial environments to demonstrate product capabilities and ensure the product meets the client’s expectations.
* Internal Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering, and customer support teams to ensure the proposed solutions align with the company's capabilities and the client’s requirements.
* Training and Knowledge Sharing: Continuously update customers on the company’s product offerings and industry trends. Train sales teams on technical aspects of products to improve overall sales performance.
* Customer Feedback: Collect and relay customer feedback to product and engineering teams to improve existing products and help develop future offerings.
Who are you?
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in a technical or engineering role, ideally in a sales or customer-facing technical position.
* Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software engineering theory, integrations, APIs and scripting languages (Javascript, JSON, Bash, Python). Ideally, experience with automation platforms like Zapier.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess customer needs and design tailored technical solutions.
* Presentation Skills: Comfortable presenting to clients and senior stakeholders individually and in groups.
* Customer-focused: Strong understanding of customer needs and ability to build relationships to facilitate long-term partnerships.

* Experience in a sales engineering role or similar customer-facing technical role.
