Job Description
Anderson Knight has an excellent new role for a Commercial Contracts Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client, a leading multi-utilities business, based out of Glasgow.
You will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The role is responsible for ensuring the business gets the best possible service and value from their supplier network, as well as ensuring all service providers are compliant and continue to meet contractual obligations and business needs. You will focus on providing the necessary pre- and post-contract commercial support on a range of one-off and programmes of work. You will be able to combine strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills, alongside demonstrable experience to support the business.
Responsibilities:
1. Client and supply chain contractual management
2. Identifying risks, opportunities, and any required actions
3. Management of client compensation event process, compensations, penalties, and contractual rates increase
4. Oversee and involve in site operational processes such as measurement, compensation event identification, and cost base management
5. Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients
6. Manage contract negotiations with a focus on discrepancies, compensation events, and potential penalties
7. Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met, and be ready to handle unexpected situations
8. Analysing projects, e.g., impact on timing, revenue, and gross profit of changes to supply chain and client rates
9. Management and reporting of project prelims
10. Support the tender and estimating team as required
11. Develop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant departments
12. Manage QS teams working alongside the Ops Manager to ensure fluid collaboration and support
Minimum Requirements:
1. BSc/BEng in business administration, engineering, or a relevant field
2. Degree in Quantity Surveying or Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
3. Excellent commercial acumen and contract management skills
4. Excellent knowledge of contractual agreements and law
5. Experience in a similar role at a similar level
6. Ability to communicate at all levels
7. Contract drafting and writing skills
8. Full driving licence
