About the role:
As Lead Maths Teacher at Arc School Old Arley, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will develop, implement, monitor and evaluate a maths development plan for key stages 3 and 4. Your lessons will be well-structured and engage, support and challenge all students and you will encourage staff to form links between maths and other areas of the curriculum. The role will see you working with other staff members to evaluate learning needs and objectives in line with students’ EHCPs.
About you :
You will be a qualified (QTS/QTLS) teacher of secondary mathematics, ideally, with experience of working in a special education setting with children with social, emotional and mental health needs and autism spectrum conditions.
You will be adept at tailoring your teaching and lessons to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
You will be able to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils as well as promote good progress and outcomes by pupils.
You will possess good subject and curriculum knowledge and will be comfortable to participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests where necessary and appropriate. You will provide levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of the children and those outlined in their EHCP’s and individualised plans.
