The Office of Property Valuation has an opening for a Revenue Branch Manager in the Division of Minerals Taxation. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to elected officials, staff, and other managers.
As a Revenue Branch Manager for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, you will provide direct technical assistance to PVAs and local officials to resolve tax matters.
1. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Plans, assigns, supervises and reviews the work of supervisors.
* Oversees tax programs resulting from information received from the Internal Revenue Service and other federal and state agencies.
* Holds and attends conferences with supervisors and taxpayers.
* Participate in drafting legislation and regulations for the department and prepares tax information for dissemination.
* Prepares narratives and statistical branch reports.
* Serves on department/division committees as requested by management.
The successful candidate must possess clear communication skills to work with taxpayers in person or over the telephone and in writing, sometimes in confrontational situations.
2. Additional/Supplemental information:
* Required to successfully complete a background investigation including an FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).
* Required to comply with all tax laws.
* Mostly at a desk using a computer and telephone.
* Some travel for training and education.

* EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
* EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of experience in the processing, administration, preparation, or auditing of taxes or related tax information.
* Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
* Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in the processing, administration, preparation, or auditing of taxes or related tax information will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

4. Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period: This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
