Quantity Surveyor - Yorkshire Green, Leeds
Murphy is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning Energy team on a project in Leeds. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. The Quantity Surveyor will provide assistance, support, and advice on all commercial issues on Power, Transmission & Distribution projects such as Substations.
Following the ‘One Murphy’ approach, we’re able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on. Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE and Ørsted, on both transmission and distribution networks within the Energy sector.
What you will be doing
Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full documentation in accordance with the contract
Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant documentation
Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring, and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.
Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
Drafting of subcontracts including professional services.
Who we are looking for.
HND/Degree qualification
Proven experience within a Commercial role i.e., Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or a similar role.
Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement
