The Digital Video Content Associate is tasked with production support of shows on ESPN-branded channels across social and digital platforms. This role requires knowledge of sports culture and digital media content creation. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and constantly innovating their approach to content technically, tactically, and creatively.
Responsibilities:
1. Edit high-end original longform and short form video content for ESPN’s digital platforms
2. Work with talent to write and refine scripts
3. Create graphics that stand out in a social/digital environment
4. Conduct research in the media asset management system to obtain material for the preparation of production elements
5. Research, write and communicate ideas for future content elements on ESPN platforms
6. Shoot video content in both studio and field environments
7. Provide timely, accurate and complete delivery of multimedia elements, and publish to various platforms
8. Write titles and descriptions of videos, design thumbnail images, and add other elements in the publishing process, in order to maximize effectiveness of content on digital platforms
9. Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback to team members
10. Capitalize on data to drive content creation
11. Collaborate and communicate effectively both within the department and outside of it
12. Strong knowledge of sports, including current athletes, events and storylines
13. Strong video editing ability in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro. Proficiency in Photoshop
14. Strong storytelling skills, creativity and a passion for pitching and executing story ideas from ideation to publication
15. Fluency in the YouTube mediascape and other emerging platforms
16. Must possess demonstrated communication and organization skills, and ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of production situations
17. Familiarity with ESPN programming and platforms
Preferred qualifications:
1. Some experience with Adobe After Effects
2. Video shooting experience, including lighting, camera and audio
Required education:
1. High school diploma
Preferred education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, communications, journalism or a closely related field
