We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher with a passion for Resistant Materials to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Design and Technology department based in Brentwood. As a DT Teacher, you will inspire and guide our students through the exciting world of design and manufacturing, enabling them to explore their creativity and develop key skills for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver high-quality teaching in Resistant Materials at Key Stage 3 and 4.
· Plan and implement engaging lessons that encourage practical and theoretical learning.
· Develop a curriculum that reflects the latest trends and technologies in design and manufacturing.
· Support students in their project work, helping them design, create, and evaluate practical solutions.
· Promote creativity and innovation in design processes.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department to share best practices and resources.
· Provide constructive feedback to students and assist in their academic and personal development.
· Support students in preparation for GCSE exams and assessments.
Person Specification:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
· Proven experience in teaching Resistant Materials or a related subject at Key Stage 3 and 4.
· Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology and the ability to inspire students.
· A passion for hands-on teaching and practical project work.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
· The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
· Experience of preparing students for GCSE exams is desirable.
