Senior Engineer - Permanent - Kent - UK - £50,000 - £65,000 DOE
One of the UK's leading ports is recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join the team in Kent.
The key responsibilities will include (but not exhaustive to);
* Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team to provide technical guidance, support, and oversight for project, maintenance, and inspection works.
* Act as an internal consultant, undertaking design and assessments of new and existing assets within your technical discipline. Develop long-term maintenance and replacement strategies for the Port's asset base, while driving innovation and efficiency through emerging design and construction methodologies, material technologies, and inspection techniques.
* Guide your team in defining and maintaining technical standards, assist in design assurance activities, review technical submissions, and provide advice on technical and quality matters to project and maintenance teams.
* Prepare technical guidance for the business, offering support to both technical and non-technical audiences to ensure the safe use of the Port's assets.
This role would suit someone with an established technical background, who is ready to develop broader skills in people management and strategic decision-making.
* To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Bachelors/Masters degree in a technical or engineering discipline, or similar equivalent.
* Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered/Incorporated Member of appropriate engineering/technical institution/professional body.
* Demonstrable experience of managing design processes, or developing asset maintenance strategies and understanding of CDM regulations
* Experience of managing a team and a valid UK driving licence.
