Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Advisor to join our HR Consultancy team based in Sittingbourne, Kent. This role is pivotal in supporting a client base within Kent, London, Essex, Sussex and Surrey arounds, in providing advice and support on a range of HR services. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, good experience in employee relations, the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, able to deliver training sessions, and the ability to manage various administrative tasks effectively.
We are looking for someone initially on a part time basis (25 hours per week/3.5 days per week) with the view of increasing to full time (37.5 hours per week) within the next 6 months. The successful candidate would be based at home but we would require someone to be able to travel to our office in Sittingbourne, Kent twice a month. Our clients are based in the south east region and the occasional travel to their sites would be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and advice to clients on all employee relations matters.
- Support on handling investigations, disciplinary hearings and grievance investigations.
- Support clients in managing performance and absence issues.
- Provide guidance and support on restructures and redundancy consultations.
- Assist clients with drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and procedures and company handbooks.
- Support with recruitment processes, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programmes that foster employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations while advising on best practices in human resources.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Act as a primary contact for HR related queries and issues for a client base.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as required.
Experience
- Proven experience in a human resources role, demonstrating knowledge of HR practices and principles.
- Familiarity with Breathe HR is highly advantageous.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and record management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
