As this company looks to scale their operations, they are keen on tapping into the "able to pay" market segments, including Manufacturing, Warehousing, Industrial, Agriculture, and Retail. Our client's goal is to leverage their expertise in solar energy to help businesses in these sectors transition to cleaner and more efficient energy solutions, thereby fostering the growth of sustainable practices within their operations. Therefore, they are looking to recruit an experienced sales professional, a real hunter to gain new contracts outside of the Education sector to make them even more successful and diverse.
Role Overview: Reporting into the Managing Director, the Solar Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving growth and acquiring new commercial contracts across various sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven sales record in the renewable energy sector, specifically in securing solar projects, and will possess a deep understanding of the commercial dynamics in industries such as Manufacturing, Warehousing, Industrial, Agriculture, and Retail.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement effective business development strategies to identify and acquire new customers within targeted sectors.
2. Foster relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in potential client organisations to promote our commercial solar solutions.
3. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the able-to-pay sectors.
4. Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to secure contracts.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
6. Monitor market conditions and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.
7. Maintain comprehensive reporting on sales activities and client interactions.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Minimum of 3-5 years of business development experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically commercial solar energy solutions.
2. Proven track record of successfully acquiring and managing commercial contracts.
3. Strong network within the Manufacturing, Warehousing, Industrial, Agriculture, or Retail sectors is highly desirable.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
5. Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Product knowledge of SolarEdge is advantageous but not essential.
