What is the job role?
We are looking for a Programme Support Officer to join our supportive and enthusiastic team on a fixed term contract basis, until 31st March 2026, to provide high quality programme support to the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Partnership Programme Manager to ensure that project planning, development and activity across allocated projects are co-ordinated so that outcomes are timely and effective.
* Leading on the development and implementation of the partnership communications activity, including overseeing the website and social media sites, to ensure continued engagement with students, practitioners and those with lived experience.
* Monitoring project spend, analysing budgets and reporting on variations to project spend.
* Undertaking data collection and analysis, drawing conclusions and preparing written reports to further the delivery of project objectives across the West Midlands Social Work Teaching Partnership.
* Ensuring the timely completion of project reports, including the preparation of agendas, minutes and other relevant documents to the highest possible standards within agreed deadlines.
* Providing line management support and coaching to an Operational Support Officer.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who is proactive in their approach to work, thrives in having a variety of work activities and will be confident in forging relationships with a wide range of people at all levels within our partnership. You will need to have an ability to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities.
You will have experience of coordinating and administering multiple, simultaneous activities/projects on time and within budget and leading on communication and promotion campaigns. You’ll also have experience of managing, supporting and motivating staff whilst dealing with change.
You will have a good working knowledge of programme and project management methodologies and an understanding of the current context for social work.
This post is fixed term until 31 March 2026.
