Job Introduction We're looking for a CDP Operations Manager to join the Media team. This specialist CDP role will lead the technical integration, shape the product roadmap and provide ongoing support to deliver CRM, Owned and Paid media use cases to increase the consumption of BBC's digital products and services. This person will be responsible for designing and collaborating with teams of technical data engineers and architects to enable the foundational components of our mParticle CDP, and deploying communications in Airship across email and push notifications. Main Responsibilities This person will be responsible for designing and collaborating with teams of technical data engineers and architects to enable the foundational components of our mParticle CDP. The ideal candidate has an established track record of managing a CDP. • Ensure CDP is centrally connected to all aspects of the BBC's wider mar tech and ad tech stack to set up and execute CDP data egress to external partners, deploy and orchestrate across owned, CRM and paid media campaigns. These will include Airship (for Email, Push Notifications and In-App Messages), Owned APIs for Display & Video in BBC websites/apps and various Paid Advertisers (e.g. Meta, TikTok, Google, Snapchat). • Work closely with Customer Data, Product Data, and Data Warehouse teams to recommend and deliver the optimal platform access & management, data ingest/egress and hosting, and data model & management. • Consult with CRM, Owned Media, and Paid Media to gather and prioritise use case requirements and translate them into technical data requests. • Identify user data, content metadata, and campaign data to ingest into the CDP, and how this data delivers audience targeting, campaign optimization, and post-campaign measurement. • Provide campaign tracking and measurement that aligns to BBC's analytics platforms. • Enable the set-up and capabilities to unify the user's consumption of BBC digital services, predicting likely next actions and executing interventions (next best action) which flow into campaign activity. • Ensure BBC contractual volumes remain under threshold, and mitigating/escalating commercial risks. • Define the quarterly roadmap with supplier, ensuring resource efficiencies for use of professional services and support functions. • Develop and update documentation for process flows, user guides, blueprints, and more. • Ensure CDP operations adhere to data privacy laws (GDPR, etc.) and comply with BBC's data governance policies. • Troubleshoot, triage and escalate incidents in service. • Provide ongoing support and training to mParticle & Airship end-users, ensuring they can utilise the platform effectively for their needs. Are you the right candidate Data Platform, Integration and Management: • Experience integrating a CDP (ideally mParticle) with other marketing and advertising technologies, such as analytics platforms, CRM systems and advertising networks. • Understanding of CDP data types and knowledge of handling them within a CDP. • Experience using real-time data activation features to enhance campaign performance (e.g. Conversion APIs or onsite personalisation). • Proficiency setting up data forwarding to various output services for analytics, attribution and audience targeting. • Experience integrating with cloud-based data warehousing solutions and managing data storage and retrieval. • Understanding of the CDP landscape and how it is innovating towards new technical solutions. Operation Management • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. • Experience delivering cost efficiencies through use of data and ability to insource vs outsource to professional services. • Incident Management: Experience troubleshooting and managing incidents related to CDP data flows and integrations. • Documentation: Ability to create and maintain documentation for CDP process flows, user guides and integration blueprints. • Ability to produce performance reports and make recommendations that optimize and improve the CDP's efficiency Campaign Management • Ability to set up and manage campaigns with both CDP but also marketing automation platforms • Experience in the use of triggers, sequencing, contact selection, open contextual and multi-variant testing. • Experience with database management, list segmentation, audience profiling and contact targeting • Analytics experience to understand and interpret ROI metrics. Industry background • Experience in CRM, including delivery of email and push notifications, using dynamic content and personalized segmentation. • Good understanding of Display, Audio & Video formats used in owned media and paid advertising. • Experience developing a data strategy to deliver solutions through a CDP and ad tech tools (including Ads Managers, Clean Rooms & Conversion APIs) to improve personalisation, campaign optimisation, attribution, measurement. • Strong understanding of data integration, data quality, and data governance principles. Stakeholder Management • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts and data strategies to non-technical stakeholders, and deliver buy-in. mParticle Platform Proficiency • Familiarity creating connections between data inputs and outputs and managing data flows within the mParticle platform. • Proficiency managing and transforming events and audience data to fit mParticle's data model • Experience using mParticle's Events API for data collection and integration with external systems. Programming and Script • Proficient in languages like Python or Javascript. • Experience using SQL for querying and managing data within a CDP ecosystem.
