A global market-leading manufacturer requires a Senior Buyer. Applicants should be comfortable in a role with both tactical and strategic elements, be competent MRP/ERP users, and adept at fostering strong internal and external relationships.
The Senior Buyer will work within a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. This exciting, all-encompassing procurement role supports day-to-day procurement, ensuring continuity of supply to the Basingstoke facility while collaborating with global colleagues on strategic initiatives. The area of spend in focus is direct materials and services for manufacturing. The role would suit a self-motivated, proactive procurement professional looking for a varied role within a global organization.
Specific tasks of the Senior Buyer include:
1. Management of the Purchase Order process within the business MRP/ERP system.
2. Supplier orderbook management, scheduling/re-scheduling of orders.
3. Supplier Relationship Management - day-to-day against OTD/OTIF metrics with strategic partnering also.
4. Monitoring of inventory levels.
5. Collaboration with the Global Procurement Team regarding negotiations, supplier identification, rationalization, and leveraging of spend.
Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
1. Procurement or Purchasing experience, as a Buyer or Senior Buyer; Supply Planning or Supplier Manager experience would also be suitable.
2. Ability to use an MRP/ERP system.
3. Comfort in switching between operational and strategic tasks.
4. Ability to work within a matrix-structured organization.
5. Proactive, positive, do-er.
